Because Tyler and I were going to Colorado for Christmas we couldn't take all of our gifts with us so we decided to open some gifts at home before we left. So here are some pictures from our little Christmas. Tyler got an electric razor, a robe, and a little bronco toiletry bag and I got a BIKE, a calender, and a book! It was so fun! Those are just the gifts that we got from each other. Santa brought us more in Colorado. P.s. no pictures of the bike yet because I have to go pick it out.

Ready or not Christmas is here!
Today I took on the challenge of making plates of cookies with the two kids! Okay it really wasn't that bad once we figured out who was going to do what but until then it was a little hard. But good thing they are such good kids. We made 12 plates of cookies for their teachers, neighbors, and friends. It was a lot of fun I must admit. They had a blast, which made it worth the while! They are making this first Christmas away from my family so much easier. They are my California family!
We are headed to Colorado for Christmas this year! I know first Christmas away from my family as a married couple. It will be hard and a major change going from 2500 at my house to 9 at his house. But I am sure it will be fun! They are always fun to be around but I will definitely miss my family!
But I hope everyone has a FABULOUS Christmas and Happy New Year! And to quote the apron that my mom gave me and my new favorite saying " DON'T GET YOUR TINSEL IN A TANGLE!" Thanks mom for the apron and the fun saying!

Christmas Letter!
Christmas 2008
Dear Family and Friends,
Hello family! It has been quite the year for Tyler and me. We got married on January 26th and it has been an adventure ever since then. A week after we were married we packed up our things in Colorado and headed west to California! Somewhere during that time I turned 24! Tyler got a job with Cardinal Health as a Sales Rep and the job was in the Sacramento area so we moved to Roseville. We loved it there. Tyler loved his job and I had a couple of nanny positions that I loved. We lived next door to the missionaries and we immediately adopted them as our own. I loved having them around and I think that it really helped Tyler and me. It was a little hard moving away from all of our family and friends but the missionaries helped us! I am so glad that we had the opportunity to move away as soon as we got married; I don’t think that we would be the couple that we are today without it. We lived in Roseville until the beginning of August. Our time in Roseville included: fun visits from friends and families, Tyler totaling my car, Tyler buying me a new car, more visits from friends and family, and trips back home to see family. While we were visiting Tyler’s family for the Fourth of July, Tyler got a call from his manager and he informed him that he would not longer be employed. So we added that to the lovely stresses of married life. He worked for such a good company and we were so sad at the thought of leaving it. Cardinal worked very hard to find him another job within the company. They gave us a few options; Chicago (way too cold and too far away), Oakland (too scary), or San Jose. So we took the job in San Jose and moved there the beginning of August. Tyler is now a Distribution Rep and I am once again a nanny. We do love San Jose, but just not as much as Roseville. It is so expensive to live here and our neighbors aren’t the boys. We do have friends here that we love and we are pretty content with staying here for the time being.
Since we have lived in California we have been taking a lot of adventures! While in Roseville we visited Lake Tahoe, which is absolutely beautiful, a couple times. Jake came to visit us and we went to Reno and came home by way of Lake Tahoe. We went to San Francisco a couple of times, once just the two of us and once with the Ortiz parents. My friend Ashley came to visit us from Minnesota and we went to Monterey and went on a whale watching boat and actually saw whales. It was awesome! Jessica (cousin) and Mickey came to visit us and we went to a lake nearby Roseville and explored downtown Sacramento. We also went to some minor league baseball games; I think they are way more fun then major league ones, especially when you know someone that is playing. I think there were more things that we did while living there but I can’t remember them. Now that we are living in San Jose we still go on adventures. We only live like 25 minutes from the beach, so we have gone there quite a few times. Tyler turned 25 on the 23rd of August and my friend Ashley just happened to be here visiting from Arizona so we took her to Santa Cruz beach! We have a couple friends that we knew from Minnesota that live here in our same apartment complex so I often go with them to the beach. We went to a 49ers football game and got our car broken into; so sad! I am never going to a football game again! Okay probably not but still I was so mad. Some friends invited us to a pro basketball game that was a lot of fun; and when Tyler’s parents came to visit us in November we went to yet another football game. Basically I just need to go to a hockey game and I think I will be done with sporting events until I have kids!
We have had such a fun year and we hope there are many more to come! I hope all of you have had a fun year and are blessed with many more!
LOVE YOU ALL!

Visit from Minnesota!
We had a wonderful visit from Tyler's friend Zack and his girlfriend now fiance Jenny! He proposed to her while they were out here! It was a fun visit. We took them to San Fran of course. It rained the whole time so that part wasn't fun but it was still very pretty. It was so clear and no fog so it made it easier to see all the sights. I am glad that Tyler got to have some friends to come out and visit. I am sure glad they did!

So the scale didn't say that I lost any weight but I definitely feel like I have. My butt feels perkier and I feel like I have lost some on my stomach. But the scale never lies. lol! But I am feeling better about myself. I have got my workouts down again. One in the morning and one in the evening. Now I just have to get my eating habits in check and I think that I will be good to go!

Our First Christmas Tree!
It is our first Christmas together as a married couple. So precious! lol! We got invited to go get a Christmas tree with the Fewkes (the family I work for). It was so much fun. They are such a fun family. We went up to the Santa Cruz mountains to a tree farm place. It was so pretty up there. You could see the ocean in the distance and I am sure it smelled heavenly if my nose was clear. The Fewkes have a nice big space so we found them a HUGE tree and we got us a cute little tree. Justin is quite the little helper especially when it comes to doing manly stuff so he loved helping cut down the trees with the saw! Sadly the both Russel and Sandy got ticks but the rest of us were safe.

After we got our trees we headed to pretty winery that was just right down the road. It was so pretty. It was in an old school house and there was this really cool old tree. And next door was this really pretty house. It must be nice to have that kind of money. Tyler entertained the kids outside so they wouldn't break anything. They all seemed to be having a blast! Then we headed home to have dinner with them and decorate the trees. We hung out at their house for a while, had a wonderful dinner and helped them decorate their tree. It was so fun. Made me miss my family but they became our replacement family for the night!

And finally here is are cute little tree all decorated even with a couple gifts underneath it and our stockings hung underneath the TV with care!

Hope everyone has the best Christmas ever!

Funny Tyler story!
I know I know I look sick but the rest of the pic is cute so I will sacrifice. But the point of this post is to tell the story to why I got the cabbage patch doll!. We were all sitting around chatting and Jacob has our name for Christmas this year and he was was asking what we wanted for Christmas. Tyler proceeded to ask me what I wanted most for Christmas and I named a bike, a bosch, and, jewelry. Tyler said "no what is it that you want most in the world?" And my answer was "A BABY" and Tyler said yes! And then Jacob looked and him and said "you want me to get you guys a baby?" It was so funny! Tyler was so embarrassed. We had to inform him that we are a close family but not that close! So as a joke Jacob gave me a cabbage patch doll to tease Tyler. No I am not pregnant but I do now have a cabbage patch doll! lol!

I didn't fall off the diet wagon! Last week were in the car to AZ so I couldn't weigh in then, and yesterday I did weigh in but forgot to post. I was able to maintain my weight through the Thanksgiving Holiday.I even ran twice while home for the holiday and hiked a little bit at the Grand Canyon. I am so excited for that but now I am going to get my butt in gear and get back to working out a lot and eating better!!
Happy Birthday Sammy boy!

Happy 12th Birthday Sam! I hope you have a fun day and wonderful year! I can't believe that you are already 12. That makes me really old! Love you bud! P.S. I know your birthday is the 3rd. I just forgot to post it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY DEAR!
LOVE YOU Mom! I hope you had a good birthday! Thanks for all that you do! FYI You have the nicest legs in the WORLD!
Thanksgiving!
We had such a fun Thanksgiving weekend! We were able to go home to Arizona this year. Lucky Tyler! lol! We actually had a good Thanksgiving week with no major fights. Getting that many people together in one house you can always count on at least one but we made it through! I think my mom had to escape a couple times to go get some caffine so she could deal. Thanks mom!!! We had everyone home except for Abe and his family and we missed them! Thanksgiving eve and morning were filled with lots of cooking. My mom and Rachel made like 15 pumpkin pies! Thank heavens I am not a pie eater otherwise I would have gained so much weight! Before we ate dinner we went on our annual Isaacson Family Turkey Trot! It was so cold and raining! But my mom said that she ran a marathon in the rain we could run a mile in the rain! I think that i was hail! lol! But we all made it even Grant, Aneron, and Raymond! Joshua got first for the mens and Hannah got first for the girls! One of these times I will be up there with her and my mom! After all the cooking and the runnning you can imagine how much we ate. Everything tasted so amazing! My mom is the best cook!
The rest of the weekend was filled with puzzles, Mario cart for the kids and men, reading twilight, and sending the kids outside to get some quiet time! It was such a fun weekend. I am sad that I wont get to be there for Christmas but I guess that is part of marriage. I will just have to call all the time and listen to all the noise! Thanks again mom for everything and thanks Steph for taking pictures of the family run! I am so thankful for such an awesome family!
The Loss of our Family pet of 14 years.
Superman passed away on Thanksgiving morning. He passed away in his sleep so we are grateful for that. He was such a good pet. We all sat around and told our memories about him. Jacob had a chicken that would sleep on him and Sam used to ride on his back. Sam would also go and hide under the trampoline whenever he would get in trouble. We had a cat that had kittens and died somehow and the kittens would sleep on him. He never bit anyone and the kids just loved him. I am sure he wasn't always perfect, but I can't remember when. I am sure my mom does. He was the best family pet in the world. I want to eventually have a puppy just like him. Superman you will be missed!

The Grand Canyon!
On our way home to St. Johns we decided to stop at the Grand Canyon for the night. It was SO AMAZING! We are for sure going back there another time and staying longer and hiking it. It kind of sucked that it was cloudy so we couldn't watch the sun set or see the sun bounce of the rocks but hopefully next time it will be sunny!

Hike yep you heard correctly a hike!
Tyler and I decided to go on a hike on Saturday. It was so pretty up there and we got to watch the sunset. I am not going to lie the altitude kicked my butt but the view was worth it. Here are some pictures from the top and one of a cute little house at the start of the trail!

Christmas Video!
This is a Nativity Movie with Amy Grant's Breath of Heaven as the music. I love it and I thought I would share!

WeDnEsDaY wEiGh In!
I have been so bad with this whole diet thing the last couple weeks. I am jumping back on the diet wagon today! I did weigh myself this morning and I gained a couple pounds so I am not to happy with myself. I haven't been working out as much because we have had family for the five days and of course that means we ate a lot also. So now that we are back to being alone I am going to literally work my butt off. I know it is Thanksgiving next week but I think I will still be good. I have lost fifteen pounds before in a holiday season and I am hoping that I can do it again!
Fun Weekend with Ronnie and Terri!
On Thursday evening Tyler's parents came for a visit. We did a lot of shopping, went to a football game, more shopping, went to Monterey, more shopping, and more shopping. It was a fun long weekend. They have never been to San Jose, they came and visited us in Roseville but this was their first visit here. I think that they loved it. We had perfect weather while they were here, in the 80's! It was so nice to have a bigger apartment. In Roseville we lived in a one bedroom and so they had to sleep on an air mattress in the front room, so you could imagine how we were all starting to feel. This time they had their own room and their own bed so we all slept in peace. The extra space made such a difference. It was so fun to have them here and I can't wait to see them at Christmas time.
We went to the Stanford vs. USC football game. I would go to a college game any day over an NFL one. USC ended up winning but at half time it was 17-17. The fans were so fun to watch and I was cheering for both teams. I was confusing everyone and then I would yell "GO FOOTBALL." I told Tyler that I was just cheering for the sport since I really didn't care for either team. We all had so much fun. Tyler and Ronnie loved sports and Terri was thinking about shopping and I was just yelling to yell! USC band was absolutely amazing and HUGE, poor Stanford band was like 1/4th of the size. I am going to sound like a band fanatic, but the USC band was so cool and so uniform. They would spell things out and they sounded so good. Then you had the Stanford band that was having a fun day or something so they were all dressed up in Halloween costumes and dancing around on the field like maniacs! But they were having fun so it made it fun. And did you know that Stanford's mascot is a TREE! So weird! So over all the game was AMAZING until after and we sat in traffic for 2 hours before we even left the parking lot! Here are some pictures from the game!

On Sunday we took a drive to Monterey. We took the scenic route there that took us through some vineyards and on a crazy road. But it was so pretty. I would love to live there! We got to Monterey and had some lunch on the Pier and walked a little bit. Then we got in the car and headed out to Sunset drive so we could watch the sun set. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We got there at the perfect time. The pictures don't even give it justice. But here they are. . . plus one that I took in the moving car that makes the lady look like a ghost and of course a cool tree!
