On Friday morning we headed up to San Isabella to do some sledding. We got there early enough that we got to have the hill to ourselves for a while. Made it less stressful with the little kids. Uncle Roger and his two youngest boys Dillon and Colten came also. It was so fun. It was kind of windy at times which wasn't fun but it was sure fun to play in the snow. I rolled down the big hill because I didn't have a sled to get down one of the times and I also went down on sleds a couple times. I was pretty impressed with myself. I am normally a chicken. I think that everyone had a good time. I know that I did.

Sledding!
The many Pj's of Christmas time!
I love Pajamas! If I had it my way I would only wear pajamas! So for Christmas this year I got some fun pj's to wear. One my mother made for me, two I found at target, and one from Terri. I missed being in the picture with my family in all of our pj's that my mom makes for us every year. But I had all of us girls in Pueblo sit for a picture with our pj's that Terri got us! Brooklyn wasn't there for the picture that night but I caught her and Taylon in theirs on another night.

Colorado Christmas!
We had a wonderful Christmas in Colorado! It was a lot different from my families but it was still so fun. It was fun to see how other people do Christmas. Brooklyn was with her dad on Christmas eve until noon on Christmas so we went to mass and then hung out at home. Terri gave us girls pj's and so we all put those on and just played with Taylon and visited.

On Christmas morning there was no waking up before the sun like at my house. Taylon did wake up at open her gifts from Santa and then we waited for Brooklyn to get home. When she got home we headed to Grandma Mary's for Christmas dinner. We ate some yummy ravioli's and had cheesecake for desert.

Then we headed to Grandma Evie's to see Ortiz side of the family then we headed home to open presents. The kids were fun to watch open presents. They would get so excited when they would get toys and then when they would get toys they got so bummed.

Santa brought Tyler a remote control Tundra because she couldn't afford a real one like he wished for. And I got a DIAMOND NECKLACE yep you heard that right he went to Jareds. lol Actually he went to Kays. He did a good job.

Thank you all for making Christmas fun. Overall I did pretty good about being away from my family on Christmas. Thanks to my family sending me pictures. I only cried once during mass when the Father talked about Christmas being the time to spend with family. But other then that I stayed pretty busy and kept my mind off of it. It definitely helped having the two cute girls to play with!! Hope everyone's Christmas was fun and full of friends and family!

Sheer bordem!
Well I am bored so I am just going to write. We don't leave to Colorado until Tuesday night and I am already packed and ready to go. Can you tell that I am a little excited about a vacation! I have the next two weeks off! I have no clue what I am going to when I am not in Colorado but I am sure I can figure something out. I am going to miss my kids so much that we are going to go bring in the New Year with them. It should be fun and will give us something to do instead of sitting home by our lonesomes!
I am almost ready for Christmas. I need to go to Walmart tomorrow to get some stocking stuffers for Tyler's stocking and then I am good to go! We did already open most of our gifts but not the stockings yet! We need Santa to feel those. Well I guess I will go find something else to do. I don't really have much more to talk about. Wait I guess I could write about some of my families Christmas traditions that I will miss this year.
1. Opening our pj's and trying them on all together on Christmas eve.
2. Doing the 12 days of Christmas.
3. Reading the Christmas Story on Christmas Eve.
4. Reading "That Thine Alms May be in Secret"
5. Trying to get all the kids to sleep. (I remember Josh, Caleb, and Mickey used to sleep in the same twin bed on Christmas eve!)
6. Waking up before the sun to open gifts!
7. Watching the kids open gifts.
8. My mother's homemade cinnamon rolls Christmas morning.
9. Homemade enchiladas for Christmas Dinner.
10. And I am sure there are many more!
I will miss all of my family but I am excited to be with Tyler's family and make some new family traditions!
First Christmas!
Because Tyler and I were going to Colorado for Christmas we couldn't take all of our gifts with us so we decided to open some gifts at home before we left. So here are some pictures from our little Christmas. Tyler got an electric razor, a robe, and a little bronco toiletry bag and I got a BIKE, a calender, and a book! It was so fun! Those are just the gifts that we got from each other. Santa brought us more in Colorado. P.s. no pictures of the bike yet because I have to go pick it out.

Ready or not Christmas is here!
Today I took on the challenge of making plates of cookies with the two kids! Okay it really wasn't that bad once we figured out who was going to do what but until then it was a little hard. But good thing they are such good kids. We made 12 plates of cookies for their teachers, neighbors, and friends. It was a lot of fun I must admit. They had a blast, which made it worth the while! They are making this first Christmas away from my family so much easier. They are my California family!
We are headed to Colorado for Christmas this year! I know first Christmas away from my family as a married couple. It will be hard and a major change going from 2500 at my house to 9 at his house. But I am sure it will be fun! They are always fun to be around but I will definitely miss my family!
But I hope everyone has a FABULOUS Christmas and Happy New Year! And to quote the apron that my mom gave me and my new favorite saying " DON'T GET YOUR TINSEL IN A TANGLE!" Thanks mom for the apron and the fun saying!

Christmas Letter!
Christmas 2008
Dear Family and Friends,
Hello family! It has been quite the year for Tyler and me. We got married on January 26th and it has been an adventure ever since then. A week after we were married we packed up our things in Colorado and headed west to California! Somewhere during that time I turned 24! Tyler got a job with Cardinal Health as a Sales Rep and the job was in the Sacramento area so we moved to Roseville. We loved it there. Tyler loved his job and I had a couple of nanny positions that I loved. We lived next door to the missionaries and we immediately adopted them as our own. I loved having them around and I think that it really helped Tyler and me. It was a little hard moving away from all of our family and friends but the missionaries helped us! I am so glad that we had the opportunity to move away as soon as we got married; I don’t think that we would be the couple that we are today without it. We lived in Roseville until the beginning of August. Our time in Roseville included: fun visits from friends and families, Tyler totaling my car, Tyler buying me a new car, more visits from friends and family, and trips back home to see family. While we were visiting Tyler’s family for the Fourth of July, Tyler got a call from his manager and he informed him that he would not longer be employed. So we added that to the lovely stresses of married life. He worked for such a good company and we were so sad at the thought of leaving it. Cardinal worked very hard to find him another job within the company. They gave us a few options; Chicago (way too cold and too far away), Oakland (too scary), or San Jose. So we took the job in San Jose and moved there the beginning of August. Tyler is now a Distribution Rep and I am once again a nanny. We do love San Jose, but just not as much as Roseville. It is so expensive to live here and our neighbors aren’t the boys. We do have friends here that we love and we are pretty content with staying here for the time being.
Since we have lived in California we have been taking a lot of adventures! While in Roseville we visited Lake Tahoe, which is absolutely beautiful, a couple times. Jake came to visit us and we went to Reno and came home by way of Lake Tahoe. We went to San Francisco a couple of times, once just the two of us and once with the Ortiz parents. My friend Ashley came to visit us from Minnesota and we went to Monterey and went on a whale watching boat and actually saw whales. It was awesome! Jessica (cousin) and Mickey came to visit us and we went to a lake nearby Roseville and explored downtown Sacramento. We also went to some minor league baseball games; I think they are way more fun then major league ones, especially when you know someone that is playing. I think there were more things that we did while living there but I can’t remember them. Now that we are living in San Jose we still go on adventures. We only live like 25 minutes from the beach, so we have gone there quite a few times. Tyler turned 25 on the 23rd of August and my friend Ashley just happened to be here visiting from Arizona so we took her to Santa Cruz beach! We have a couple friends that we knew from Minnesota that live here in our same apartment complex so I often go with them to the beach. We went to a 49ers football game and got our car broken into; so sad! I am never going to a football game again! Okay probably not but still I was so mad. Some friends invited us to a pro basketball game that was a lot of fun; and when Tyler’s parents came to visit us in November we went to yet another football game. Basically I just need to go to a hockey game and I think I will be done with sporting events until I have kids!
We have had such a fun year and we hope there are many more to come! I hope all of you have had a fun year and are blessed with many more!
LOVE YOU ALL!

Visit from Minnesota!
We had a wonderful visit from Tyler's friend Zack and his girlfriend now fiance Jenny! He proposed to her while they were out here! It was a fun visit. We took them to San Fran of course. It rained the whole time so that part wasn't fun but it was still very pretty. It was so clear and no fog so it made it easier to see all the sights. I am glad that Tyler got to have some friends to come out and visit. I am sure glad they did!

WeDnEsDaY wEiGh In!
So the scale didn't say that I lost any weight but I definitely feel like I have. My butt feels perkier and I feel like I have lost some on my stomach. But the scale never lies. lol! But I am feeling better about myself. I have got my workouts down again. One in the morning and one in the evening. Now I just have to get my eating habits in check and I think that I will be good to go!

Our First Christmas Tree!
It is our first Christmas together as a married couple. So precious! lol! We got invited to go get a Christmas tree with the Fewkes (the family I work for). It was so much fun. They are such a fun family. We went up to the Santa Cruz mountains to a tree farm place. It was so pretty up there. You could see the ocean in the distance and I am sure it smelled heavenly if my nose was clear. The Fewkes have a nice big space so we found them a HUGE tree and we got us a cute little tree. Justin is quite the little helper especially when it comes to doing manly stuff so he loved helping cut down the trees with the saw! Sadly the both Russel and Sandy got ticks but the rest of us were safe.

After we got our trees we headed to pretty winery that was just right down the road. It was so pretty. It was in an old school house and there was this really cool old tree. And next door was this really pretty house. It must be nice to have that kind of money. Tyler entertained the kids outside so they wouldn't break anything. They all seemed to be having a blast! Then we headed home to have dinner with them and decorate the trees. We hung out at their house for a while, had a wonderful dinner and helped them decorate their tree. It was so fun. Made me miss my family but they became our replacement family for the night!

And finally here is are cute little tree all decorated even with a couple gifts underneath it and our stockings hung underneath the TV with care!

Hope everyone has the best Christmas ever!

Funny Tyler story!
I know I know I look sick but the rest of the pic is cute so I will sacrifice. But the point of this post is to tell the story to why I got the cabbage patch doll!. We were all sitting around chatting and Jacob has our name for Christmas this year and he was was asking what we wanted for Christmas. Tyler proceeded to ask me what I wanted most for Christmas and I named a bike, a bosch, and, jewelry. Tyler said "no what is it that you want most in the world?" And my answer was "A BABY" and Tyler said yes! And then Jacob looked and him and said "you want me to get you guys a baby?" It was so funny! Tyler was so embarrassed. We had to inform him that we are a close family but not that close! So as a joke Jacob gave me a cabbage patch doll to tease Tyler. No I am not pregnant but I do now have a cabbage patch doll! lol!

I didn't fall off the diet wagon! Last week were in the car to AZ so I couldn't weigh in then, and yesterday I did weigh in but forgot to post. I was able to maintain my weight through the Thanksgiving Holiday.I even ran twice while home for the holiday and hiked a little bit at the Grand Canyon. I am so excited for that but now I am going to get my butt in gear and get back to working out a lot and eating better!!
Happy Birthday Sammy boy!

Happy 12th Birthday Sam! I hope you have a fun day and wonderful year! I can't believe that you are already 12. That makes me really old! Love you bud! P.S. I know your birthday is the 3rd. I just forgot to post it!
