"Lent is the season for the experience of giving your life over -- in each moment, bodily, deliberately, to Christ and to what the Spirit is showing you. God wants you to surrender yourself, and let the Spirit work in you. In Lent, we take responsibility for our acts and thoughts, and treat certain of those as the killers they are. Lent is self-discovery of the parts of ourselves we don't want to discover, through prayer, fasting, and other disciplines. It is the opening up, the turning over to God, the repenting of our sins, the turning away from that which does not please God. Yet there is just a glimpse of Easter through the heavy clouds of Good Friday -- that Christ has taken the burden, and you don't have to carry it anymore. Don't you want to follow that kind of a God?"
I know that I am not Catholic but I think that it is a very cool concept to give up something for 40 days and 40 nights. I think that if I can do it that long I can break the habit. So for Lent this year I am going to give up soda pop and lower my intake of sugar. Tyler is going to give up candy! So we will see how we do! Good luck to anyone else who is going to be giving up anything!
And on another note I am going to make a goal for these 40 days to make sure that I walk everyday. I have been slacking lately and I think that this will help get me back on the walking wagon!

Birthdays!
I have been slacking! I missed blogging about a couple birthdays! On Feb 16th it was Brandi's birthday and I hope she had the best day. Thank you Brandi for being such a good friend and sister to me!
Also yesterday was not only my Grandpa Isaacson's birthday but it was little miss Taylon's 2nd birthday!! Hope she had a fantastically fun day!
I feel like I haven't blogged in a long time. Nothing really exciting has been going on for us. We are getting a new couch!! I can't wait our little love seat is to small for our fat asses! We went bowling the other night and I did so much better then I did in Reno. I think that my coaches coaching payed off. I didn't get last place so I think we are good to go!
Pregnancy is going good. I feeling large and it is only the beginning so I better get used to it. I have had a few major headaches but I am crossing my fingers that they go away. I was sick for a few days but it has been so much better lately! Thank heavens. Poor Tyler was ready to ship me out the other day when I was having a major head ache. And also my lower back has been hurting a lot!!! I hope that is not a bad sign. I think that it might be from sleeping on my sides. But other then all of that I think we are good. We go to the doc on March 3rd so I will let you know more after that!
On Friday we are flying to Colorado for a cousins wedding and we will be home on Sunday! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and just getting away from California rainy season for a couple days!
Also on Friday, so that I don't forget, is Ronnie and Grandma Evie's birthday! But I will get to see them for those which will be fun!!
Well I think that is all for now! Hope all is well!

Arkansas kiddos!
Sally wrote a Love letter instead of a Christmas letter this year. Pretty cute idea, and she sent some pictures a long with it. Haley, Slade, and Lincoln are such cute kids so I thought I would share some of the pictures! P.S. Haley your hair is getting so long. I love it!

Trip to Reno/ Valentines
Tyler's team had a get together in Reno this last couple of days. And they got to bring their spouses, so we left San Jose at noon on Wednesday and headed to Reno. We picked up Lauren, one of Tyler's coworkers in Sacramento and then headed over there mountain. It started to snow and we had to put chains on our car and then we got stopped for 3 and a half hours because of some accidents. It was the worst. I had to go to the bathroom so bad and of course there was no place for me to go. Once it got dark I tried to go but for the life of me I couldn't but thank heavens before I peed my pants we started moving and stopped at the first gas station. I felt so much better! Then the rest of the drive was a piece of cake besides all of the snow. And we finally arrived in Reno at like 10:45pm. What a fricken long drive!

It was a fun trip. Wednesday we just went to bed and on Thursday Tyler had meetings so I went shopping with some of the other wives and then that night we had dinner all together and then went bowling. I had the worst score out of everyone and everyone was trying to help me. It was pretty funny. But the gave me a gift card to McDonald's for having the lowest score. lol! I didn't take a lot of picture but here is one of Tyler bowling.
On Friday everyone kind of did their own thing. Some went skiing, I figured it was probably not the best time to learn. My poor baby would have hated my clumsy self. Tyler and I just hung out in the hotel. It had tons of shops and things to keep us busy. I got a facial and Tyler did some gambling. And then we ate dinner all together again that night. And then on Saturday morning we woke and headed back over the mountain. We had to use chains again which sucked because they are so loud! It snowed on us but not nearly as much as on the way there. Once we got back to Sacramento we dropped Lauren off and went and visit the boys. It was so fun to see them. They are growing up! I definitely miss them! And then here are a couple pictures of the drive and how pretty California is right now!

Valentines day was good. Just lots of driving and visiting our sons. I made Tyler a candy gram and Tyler got me a facial and then we both got new cell phones. My phone was being special and Tyler's was due for on upgrade! So we kind of made them Valentines gifts for each other!
P.S. CONGRATS SJ WRESTING FOR TAKING STATE! WAY TO GO BOYS!

History
My dad just called me and asked me if I knew where my grandma got the name Lorraine from. I didn't, so he informed me that when she was born her father was missing in action in the war and so her mother named her after the place where her father was missing. Something Lorraine. I can't remember and he just barely told me. lol! Kind of fun to know. I honestly don't think I have ever thought about where she got her name. I am glad that my dad called! I need to remember to ask questions!

So you know how...
when you have been keeping a secret for so long and it comes time to start telling people it is so hard to do at first. Well I guess I just better get it out, I AM PREGNANT! Yep my dreams are finally coming true! I am due September 14th, so I am about 9 weeks along. So I still have a ways but I am sure he/she will be here before we know it.
So now that that is out I can begin journaling about my pregnancy. I have been teasing Tyler about being pregnant for a while now and he always gets stressed out. Well on January 9, 2009 Tyler realized that my period was late and so he wanted me to take a pregnancy test for fun. Well I ended up not having to work early that day so we went to lunch and then we went to Rite-Aid and picked up a test and went home and took it. We were so afraid to look at it. It was so funny. Then once we did and the test said positive I couldn't stop laughing. I was so excited and Tyler was to but not quite as excited as I was. He was more in shock. He didn't know that girls could get pregnant that easy. He thought it took like 6 months. And it does to some but I guess not me. So after the shock wore off he got excited! He is now worrying about the funniest things. He is worried if the baby will like him and if they will like sports. lol!
We had our first doctors appointment on Jan 15th and then our second on Feb 3rd, where we got our first ultra sound. It was such a fun experience. I was so nervous.
I started getting sick like the 24th of January. It was just off and on and now it is getting pretty regular. I haven't puked yet but the feeling is there. But other then that I have been doing a lot o walking. I am glad that it is something that I enjoy. I have been pretty tired lately especially at night so I can't wait for that to go away or at least for me to get used to that so I can continue being more active.
Well I am so glad I can get the secret out because it has been killing me not telling people. I can't wait for this baby to come! Also we are not going to find out what we are having. Tyler loves surprises and I am going to do my best! lol! It will save me a lot of money not knowing. But when I talk about the baby I always say "he" not sure what that means probably that Tyler really really wants a boy.
Our next doctor appointment is March 4th! Wish us luck!

Birthday day. . .
Birthday day was a pretty fun day. It included a breakfast a hike, I know who makes their wife do that on her birthday, and watching the Super Bowl.
The hike was fun but I was so tired. I am not much of a hiker and so we didn't go as far as Tyler would have liked but we still went and got some exercise.

Jessi and Tirrell came over and watched the Super Bowl with us and Claudia came a little later. So we made nachos, pizza and chips and salsa. So we ate a lot and then I made a birthday cake. And I made the rule if you make your own cake then you don't have to get sung to or blow our candles. So with that said I skipped all that stuff and just ate the cake.
I wish the Cardinals would have won that would have made my birthday wonderful but I am glad it was at least a good game. I tried to keep busy doing other things so I wouldn't have to watch all of it. It makes me nervous.
But overall it was a good birthday and Tyler got me some pretty flowers as my gift. He has done way to much for me of the last little while with Christmas and our Anniversary.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!

It's my birthday and I can cry if I want to!
My mom sent me and E card and this is what she wrote. . .
Early in the morning 25 years ago today Dr. Mowery told me amidst ever increasingly intense labor, pains, "Your baby won't be born unitl this afternoon." My answer, "No it (this was before common ultra-sounds) will come this morning!" You were born at noon! We were both right and you began your role trying to please everyone around you!
I love you!!!!!!!!!
Mom
I love that I was born at noon. It is so easy to remember. lol! Thank you mom!!
Now lets cross our fingers and hope the Cardinals can win for my birthday!
It is so weird that I am 25! I made it a quarter of a century. lol! Justin, the little boy a babysit, told me that other day that I was so old that I was alive when the dinosaurs were around. Kids are so funny! Well I don't feel that old all the time but when my nieces and nephews have birthdays I feel much older and when Hannah got her drivers permit that made me feel really old. I am sure it will even more weird when I am the mother.

GO SHARKS!
Football- check check
Basketball- check
Baseball- check check check check check check
Now I can mark Hockey off of my list of sports that I needed to attend before I die!
The San Jose played the Phoenix Coyotes. It was hard to decided who to cheer for. And my decision is that I will make the Sharks my hockey team of choice. I normally would go with the home state but I figure I should cheer for the team of my current home city. Since I refuse to cheer for any other California teams, so it is only fair. Plus it is much easier to cheer Sharks then Coyotes in most cheers. The game was a lot of fun. So loud and violent. It was a close game and the Sharks ended up winning 2-0. I was really confused about the rules. The guys in front of us kept saying that there should be a penalty when the shark guys would get hit but when they were doing the hitting they thought it was awesome. So I am not sure what constitutes a penalty. And it was really hard to watch the puck. It flew around so fast! We are going to be attending another game in March so my love for hockey is sure to grow!

HaPpY 1sT aNnIvErSaRy!
Today is Tyler and I's 1st Anniversary! It is so crazy that we have already been married a year! It went by so fast, probably because we have been so busy...
moved 2 times
2 new cars
car accident
lots of trips to: AZ, CO, Grand Canyon, Reno, Tahoe a few times, Monterey, San Francisco, Las Vegas
business trips for Tyler
visits from family and friends
fights
becoming closer
and I am sure so much more!
But over all it has been a pretty good year. I am glad Tyler has put up with me for this long. I know it can be hard sometimes. I tease him a lot that he is the girl in the relationship but it really is a compliment. He is a good husband and a major clean freak. lol! He loves the bed to be made at all times! Bless his heart. I hate making the bed. But he puts up with that and I put up with the fact that he doesn't close shower curtain! But even though we are both not perfect we are making it work! Love you Tyler!

P.S. Happy Happy Birthday Sally! I am glad that we get to share our Anniversary with you and your birthday!

Anniversary gift!
I know our Anniversary isn't until the 26th but I got my gift early. He gave it to me right before our trip to Vegas but it had to get sized and I picked it up today. My ring is now complete!! I LOVE IT!!! He is such a sweet husband! I love him all the time even if I don't always like him. LOL!
Before it was pretty then but now. . .
The pictures don't do it justice. It is amazing. I am weird but it didn't feel even so he got me another band! Now it is FABULOUS!

Surprise weekend!
So a couple of months back Tyler planned a surprise trip for me and he kept it a secret the whole time. I had absolutely no clue! Which I hate. I am not good with surprises. I hate not knowing what is going on and not knowing what I needed to pack. So Tyler told me to pack whatever and one nice outfit like a dress or skirt so that got me thinking. I have been trying to figure out what was going on forever. Every time I asked him he would change the story. It was so annoying!!!
So on Friday morning we woke up and hit the road at seven in the morning. It was hard to go to sleep because I was trying to figure out where we were going. We watched the sunrise and passed a lake not sure what it was called. Still lost at this point.

Then we continued on and passed some nut orchards. I had been on this rode before traveling to AZ so I knew we were headed southeast. He was not letting me look at the GPS, the brat.

Then we stopped in Bakersfield and had some lunch with one of Tyler's coworkers and he wife and daughter. They took us to this cute little place with amazing food then we hit the road again. I still haven't figured it out where we are going and Tyler still wont tell me!!

Then we hit the ugly desert and the beautiful windmills!

Then we went through some town that had the worlds biggest thermometer. I think it was in Barstow.
Then we turned on some road and I guess that we were going to. . .
We went to Vegas! I have never been and Tyler loves it! We made it there around four or five and then we went to the MGM where we stayed and checked in and tried to find our room. It was kind of tricky and I have to admit I was getting a little testy by this point. We finally found our room and then I laid down for a few minutes and then Tyler told me that we had dinner reservations at 8 so I needed to get ready. I was ready by seven and getting irritated because Tyler was stalling. Then he told me that I had a delivery coming at 7:30. I was threatening him that no one better sing or dance to me. lol! Then someone knocked on the door and I answered it and what do you know Jessica and Ben were there. I was so surprised! I would have never guessed that. Way to go Tyler and Jess for keeping that secret for so long. Jessica was even texting me and saying that she was in Prescott, the little brat. It was so fun to have them there. We then went to dinner and did some walking around and watched the water show at the Bellagio(sp).

Vegas is very pretty at night. Except for the people passing out the dirty pictures. It didn't matter that we were with Ben and Tyler they still tried to give them some. So weird!

That night they informed me that we were going to go see the Phantom of the Opera on Saturday night. I was so excited!! So on Saturday we woke up hit a buffet and went walking. We went to M&M world which was cool and we saw a lot of stuff!

Then we headed to a shopping area and wondered around and saw some cool things made out of plants and a hung china guy!

Then we headed back to get ready for the Phantom!! We at the Cheesecake Factory first then headed for the theater. Let me just say how amazing it was! It gave me chills listening to them sing. I would recommend going to Vegas just to see the show. The theater is built just for the Phantom and it was amazing. We sat like four rows from the stage. It was so cool. I am so glad my husband took me there! He did and amazing job!

After the show we headed back to the hotel to hangout. Then on Sunday morning we headed to the Hoover Dam. It is so pretty there! I even got to go to AZ!!

Then we said our goodbyes and headed home and I slept!
It was such a good surprise weekend. Made a good end to our first year of marriage. So weird that it has been that long!
Thank you Tyler for the fun weekend! It was the perfect way to celebrate our 1st Anniversary! I love you so much! You rock! And thanks Ben and Jess for helping us celebrate!
