Half way done!

We finally told Ronnee and Cutler that we are having another baby!  We waited as long as possible!  At first when we told them Ronnee didn't believe us. She kept saying things like "no your not!" "but your not married!" "I  don't believe you!" Then she ran away and cried for an hour! hahaha  Then she told us that she didn't want a sister because she would ruin her makeup!  This kid is hilarious!  She is now so crazy protective! I cant even sneeze or cough without her running to my side asking me if the baby and I are okay! And if Cutler being wild near me she makes sure he doesn't touch me or the baby!  Anyone and everyone we she tells them that I am having a baby! She now refers to as pregnant mom and is constantly reminding Tyler that he is going to be a dad again!  She is beyond excited and is going to be so helpful!
Cutler doesn't really seem to care or say that he cares one way or another! He does come and kiss my belly and talks to the baby!  I think he will be a good big brother but will have some adjusting to do!

The next morning we took them to the 20 week ultra sound and they got a kid out of watching the baby move around and hearing the heart bit! I think that is when Ronnee realized we were serious!
The baby wouldn't even show the Tech what the gender was so it was easy for us to keep with the theme and not find out the gender! It was our last Ultra sound for this pregnancy so no way we or anyone was going to find out!

While we were at the doctors office and the nurse was hooking me up to check my heart rate and blood pressure and Cutler just looked at me so seriously and I asked him if he was okay and he looks at me and says"I just love you mom!"  The nurse and I both nearly cried. He can be so sweet! He is always worried about me!   Not sure how I got these kids with such big hearts!
Another day I was laying in bed sick, this pregnancy was rough, and Cutler came running in to check on me and came and layed by me and told me that I was his best friend! Be still my beating heart! Let's hope he stays that sweet! Those sweet moments are so nice to have when some days I wonder if we are going to make it! lol Boys are hard!

This pregnancy is a lot like the rest in the weight gain department! Man I get huge!  I look like I am due any day and I am only half way through this lovely pregnancy!   I started feeling the baby move around 16 weeks and I love it! I cant wait for the kids to be able to feel it!

Christmas/New Years in Colorado!

Christmas Letter 2014

Ortiz Family 2014

We have had a fun year as usual filled with some ups and down!
This year has been a great year because we sold our house in Reno and can now start thinkng about buying a house here in ABQ and making this a home!  It started out a little rough because our renters bailed on us and left us with a mess! Thank heavens for great friends who sacrificed their time  and energy to clean up my house and get it ready to sell! What a blessing Jen and Pam are!  After all their hard work the house got sold and we dont have to worry about that stress anymore! So now we can think about getting a house here in ABQ
Tyler has been working a lot and still loves his job! He is so good at what he does and enjoys doing what he is doing!  Not only does he do a great job at supporting us he also is an amazing dad! When he leaves for work in the morning the kids tell him to take a tiny piece and bring them home a prize! He loves those little voices! And when he has to do overnights they cry for him to hurry!  Tyler is also the best husband! I can't remember the last time I did dishes! He has taken that chore as his own and I never have to worry about it! He also keep the yard looking nice and rarely do you find dog poop in the yard!  Those dogs are so loved by not only Tyler but the kids! I am grateful for the dogs myself because they keep the kids and Tyler entertained!
I am busy keeping the kids happy and the house in okay shape! I wish I could keep it really clean but with the 2 cute kids helping me mess it up it is impossible! Also good news... I AM PREGNANT and due at the end of May!  So that is another reason that my energy is low and my house is a mess!  But guess what we have 2 happy healthy kids and that is what is important!
Ronnee is 5 and is a sweetheart that acts like a horse most days!  She is a chatterbox and is way to smart for her own good! She knows how to work people and make them feel like a million bucks!  Grandma Evie came to visit  us one weekend and Ronnee ran up to her and gave her the best hug and then stepped back and said "who are you?"  haha Grandma Evie felt so loved even though she acted as if she didn't know her after that! She is a sweet big sister even when her brother is being a brother! She loves loves loves her dogs and would be outside with them all day if she could!  What a blesssing she is to our home!
Cutler is 2, need I say more. Jk  He is a sweet 2 year old which makes me nervous for 3. He is a mama's boy and it not really a people person so keeps to himself. He is really good at enteraining himself and keeping busy!  When he and Lavinia get together that is when the trouble happens! They love eachother and know that it is hard to get to mad at their sweet faces! He is an amazing talker and has the cutest raspy voice! People always think he is older then he is because he potty trained at 2 and talks like he is 4!   Not sure what we would do with house this little man of ours!

God has really blessed us and we are forever grateful!  We look forward to another amazing year!

Thanksgiving time in St. Johns!

This year it was everyone in Sj for Thanksgiving, which is always a fun time! This year it involved Jeff and his family from Utah!   We did some branding, Ivy's school program, and lots of playing outside. Thank heavens for mild weathered days!  There was also some leg wrestling, Grandma and her guitar and puzzles!

We also had our annual Turkey Trot and lots of food! We are so grateful for our awesome family!

More pics to come!

Exciting News in the Ortiz household!

Well we still haven't told the kids and don't plan on it for a while but we are expecting our 3 child!! We don't want to tell the kids because I know they will be so excited and will ask me a million times when the baby is going to be here!
So far this pregnancy I have been more sick then the other but I think it is because I am not getting very much rest because I am chasing the other two around!   We are so excited and cant wait to see what this little on is! I am due the end of May!

Halloween

Spiderman and Rainbow Dash!
We had a little get together with Crystal and Audrey and the Nelson family and the Portillo's to eat before we went and did some Trick or Treating! The kids were all pretty excited about getting candy!
Ronnee lasted only a little bit because she jumped in a pile of leaves and hurt her ankle. That only bothered her for a second , but when she got to that door the lady that answered the door called her a princess!  She yelled "I am not a princess, I am Rainbow Dash!" Then she told her dad she wanted to go home! hahah No one calls this girl a princess!  She then decided to come home and help me pass out candy while the rest of them continued on. She has never been one to love Trick or Treating! And surprisingly Cutler had a fun time!  They just did a couple streets then came home to pass out candy. That is most fun anyways!

Zoo Boo

The Abq Zoo has a fun Zoo Boo! You get your kids all dressed up and go to the zoo and trick or treat. They also had fun little games for the kids to play! The bad part was it was so so crowded!  Cutler was dressed so cute in his Spiderman costume and Ronnee was a the cutest Rainbow Dash!  We unloaded the kids from the car and made the walk into the Zoo and as soon as we hit the crowds Cutler shut down! Hahaha He hates crowds! He just sat in the wagon and wouldn't smile and we could barely get him to participate in the fun activities! It was so funny because at home and in the car he was in the funniest mood and was loving his costume but as soon as he saw all the people he shut down and decided he didn't like it! This little boy is something!

Fall fun and The Heart Ball!

Tyler's company bought a table at the Heart Ball! It is a fundraiser for the Loveless Heart Hospital. It was a fun excuse to get us all dressed up and go on a date! Mick and Albert joined us! Tyler and Albert had so much fun getting dressed up in Tuxes! They thought they were the coolest ever!  Mick and I went and got some dresses for the occasion also! It has been a long time since I have gotten that dressed up, it felt good to feel pretty! Hopefully more of these occasions present themselves!

Fun Fall trip to Az!

We made a trip to AZ to enjoy some apple juice making and the beautiful fall weather!  The kids had fun helping my dad pick apples and putting them in the apple press!  There is nothing like fresh apple juice made from apples right off the tree!  Not to mention all the great memories that are made in the process!   My parents have the best orchard and as kids we played many hours in it! And as teenagers we spent many hours pruning, watering, and picking apples! I am sure at the time we put up a fight but now as an adult I appreciate my parents making us spend time there!

Wicked!

We got to go see the play Wicked! It was amazing!   We went with Aneron, Mick, Albert, Caleb, Jake, and Kennis! My mom came and babysat for us!  If you haven't seen it you must!  We had such a fun night. Before we went to the play we went and had a yummy dinner and laughed so hard talking about childhood memories!  Then we went and watched the play and tried not to sing along to all the songs! We have the soundtrack at my mom's house and we listen to it often! Some fun music for sure!  I am so grateful for family and fun times!

Trip to Colorado

We were able to make a trip up to Colorado to spend some time with the Ortiz fam! Ronnee was still in her cast so she had a fun time showing them and letting them sign it! The kids always love going there and it nice that we are close enough to go!

Ronnee Turns 5!

Can you believe my baby girl is 5! She is the best thing ever! She has an amazingly funny personality and talks so fast that no one can understand her! Having a broken arm hasn't slowed her down a bit! She rocks her black cast but i can't tell if she likes the attention it brings!  She is so funny about answering questions about how it happened. She just says she doesn't want to talk about it! She isn't one to talk about things especially when she thinks it will cause her to get in trouble or anyone else!  She is a good big sister to Cutler and pretty helpful when asked. She loves her stick horses and rides them everyday on our walks! We have had a couple of them break and it is quite tramatic! One day she ran in crying that her horse broke hims leg! haha That one we taped back together and she still rides it. Another ones head fell off and that one had to be shipped to the glue factory also known as the dump!  This little one loves her horses and dogs!  A horse goes with us everywhere! And she has a surprisingly good horse noise!  She has over a hundred plastic and stuffed horses and when she gets a new one they all get introduced! It is quite entertaining. Kid have the best imaginations!
I am not sure what we would do without this spunky little lady! She keeps us on our toes and is always giving us a good laugh! She has a huge heart and is so patient with her brother!  Whenever I am sick or having a bad day she is so quickly to my side telling me it will be okay and that she loves me!  "Mom you are the best in the west!"
I know she loves me but she is a major daddy's girl and we joke that if she had to choose between the 2 she would say peace out to me! Hahaha I am the one that disciplines in the house obviously!  When her daddy is home she is always with him helping him do whatever he is doing! And she is blessed to have a dad that will let her and then plays with her!
What a blessing she is to our family!
P.S. I am so glad we dont live in Reno anymore because if we did she would be heading off ot kindergarten already!

She is 43.5 in tall and weighs around 38lbs!

Taking Audrey and Crystal to the Country!

We weren't sure if we were going to be able to make it to the fair this year because of the broken bone requiring surgery but kids are amazing creatures and Ronnee was good to go hours after surgery. She was asking to go to the park on the way home!
Our good friends  got to join us on our trip the SJ. They needed to experience small town life and a good ole County Fair!   It was so fun. It was both of their first times in AZ  and of course their first time in the Country!   And I think they loved it! Besides the not much sleep and the no coffee at my mom's house we all had a blast! We did a coffee run for Crystal and we spent the days at the fair exploring and the nights at the carnival or the Rodeo!  Audrey loved the freedom that living out of the city provides. When we were at my mom's house getting a break from the fair we never saw the kids! They were just running around outside enjoying themselves!   Crystal was so impressed that Audrey at one point got in the car with all the other kids and my sister and didn't even look back to see if her mom was coming! Haha   Kids love being with other kids!  I hope to have more adventure trips with friends to the fun place I grew up in!

A night at the baseball game and Ronnee breaks her arm!

We got invited to go to the baseball game with Jessie and Juan. We got there super early and poor Jessie is pregnant so it was a little hot a miserable while waiting for the game to start!   But after the game started it was a fun time until Ronnee fell. Tyler took them back to the playground to play for a little bit and brought them back because Ronnee was somehow knocked off the taller part of the playground ( to many big kids on a playground meant for little ones)  She was crying and holding her Right arm so I held her for little bit and she wasn't really calming down. I decided to go with my mom gut and take her to the EMTs  to check her out. They checked her out and twisted her arm but decided it was probably fine, so I went back to sit with everyone and then Ronnee just passed out! Probably from the pain!  Then I noticed her arm by her elbow was so swollen, like nearly the size of a baseball!
So I took her back to the EMT's and they said something was obviously wrong. ( I feel bad now but I should have had them at least put her arm in a sling for the car ride to the Emergency room!) So we loaded up the car and headed to the ER. Tyler dropped her and I off and he went and took Jessie and Juan back to there car and then later he and Cutler joined us.   The UNM ER was so nice because they actually have a pediatric ER so we didn't have to wait in the waiting room with all the crazy drunk and homeless people!  We got back pretty quick and Ronnee was a champ! She has such a high pain tolerance and was just laying on the gerny and not even crying. The nurses asked if we gave her anything and I said no and they were so surprised at how well she was handling things. It was so sad to see her just laying there!  They quickly gave her some pain med and she passed out again until they took her back to x-rays!
They told me that she would be super uncomfortable while they did the x-rays because of where the break was. They had to get weird angles and mover her arm around! OUCH!   But once again she was a champ!  After x-rays they got us into a room and Tyler and Cutler were able to join us! Thanks heavens because Cutler brought some comic relief and Tyler was there to help comfort our little injured girl! So the x-rays confirmed that it was indeed broke and right up by the elbow. So they told us that most likely it could only be fixed with surgery but they would try and fix it without surgery. That involved them knocking her all the way out to where she looked dead... it was freaky so cutler and I hung out outside!  Once she was knocked out they used a machine to pull on her arm and try and get it back into place! OUCH!  Well sadly that was not successful! So they wrapped her arm up and scheduled her surgery for Tuesday morning and we went home!
Monday she slept all day! Thankfully Mimi could come down and hang with Cutler while we took Ronnee to surgery! It was a little nerve racking sending my baby into surgery but she was so brave! She didn't want to talk about it at all and just kept a straight face. They took us back there to pre op and we were put in a room with a horse on the door which made her happy!   They put her in the cutest little scrubs that were huge on her and then they her some drugs to relax her and she became very entertaining! Haha she was so chatty and was saying her name was Lazy and then grabbed her crotch and said she was protecting her Coo Coo! Hahaha   I reminder her she had panties on!   Then the nurses came and wheeled her back and we went to the waiting room!
The surgery seemed like it took FOREVER!  But when the doc finally came out and talked to us she said the surgery went good. Instead of having to cut her up and fix her arm they were able to push a wire through her skin and twist the bone back into place!  Sound horribly painful but less evasive then cutting her open!    They then took us back to our sleeping girl with a nice black cast! The nurses and docs were shocked when she picked black and kept asking why she didn't want pink! Haha She would just say her favorite color is black!
When she finally woke up we went home and on the way home she was asking if she could go to the park because she had a hard cast on!  Seriously kids are crazy!    And when we got home she got on her scooter and took it for a little spin around the driveway!  She is crazy and we were so happy for that! They told us she would be in some pain and gave us a couple of prescriptions and in true Ronnee form was fine and never complained of pain. We did give some of the drug that they said would make her sleepy so we could get some rest and of course it had the opposite affect on her and she was wild!  No more of that crap!
She was doing so good that we were able to head to Sj on Friday to go to the Fair!!!
Pics to come!

Ronnee only had her cast on for 3 weeks! We went back 3 times to get a new cast and to get x-rays. Her body over produced bone and so she can't twist her arm which hasn't slowed her down. It is either that or her bones grew together. Either way there is a chance that later on in life she will need surgery to help that but my mommy instincts feels that she will be fine! She does so good as it is and it isnt affecting her at all!
I should add that it was her right arm and because she is right handed she had to learn to use her left! haha Even after the cast was off she still would prefer her left for a while! She also stopped biting her nails because with the cast she couldn't reach them!

Funny story~ When we would go to the doc they would have her try and touch her shoulder to see how far she could bend it. The first time they asked her to touch her should she used her other hand! Haha I think she just wanted to get out of there so she was like "see i can touch it!"  Haha she hated going in there and would get super quiet and nervous!  So glad we are done with that for now!

Tyler's Birthday/ Dirty Dash

Tyler's Birthday happened to fall on the same weekend we like to run the Dirty Dash!!! Last year it was on Aneron's birthday and this year Tyler got to run in the mud to celebrate! He get's to say for her 31st Birthday he got dirty and then showered off with a bunch of strangers!   This year Jake and Kennis came over and ran it with us! It was so fun! And as usual the boys were mean and got us girls super muddy!  The in laws actually brought the kids home the day before and stayed for the weekend to watch them while we ran and help Tyler celebrate his birthday!  The kids had a fun time making, decorating and singing to daddy!

A week with no kids!

The in laws asked if they could have the kids for a few days so we sent them away!  It was really nice the first couple days. I got so much done! The house stayed clean and I made quite a few baby blankets, I even think I got a few things deep cleaned! But after getting all that done I got real bored, so what did I do.... I went and got 10 inches cut off my hair! It was a fun change and I figured if I get pregnant anytime soon my hair will grow back fast thanks to pregnancy hormones!
The kids had a fun time and were spoiled rotten and spent a lot of time at the city park and running around outside!  I am sure Mimi and Snakes were exhausted by the end of each day! They were so happy to come home though and that made me feel good. It was a much needed break on all ends because it reminded us that we love and need each other!

Cute kid pics!

These kids are so fun and entertaining!  I love it!!   Ronnee is always on a horse and Cutler is throwing or swinging everything and Tyler well he is Tyler!

Trip to the Aquarium

We have a Zoo/Aquarium pass so we go as often as possible! The kids love it! Cutler especially loves the train rides! On this particular day the animals were pretty lively! The Polar Bears were pacing and the Gorillas were fighting and chatty!

Swim Lessons!

We signed Ronnee up for some swim lesson's with  her friend Audrey at a gym down the road. They loved it!  It was entertaining to watch Ronnee! Her teacher comment a few times on how strong she is! When she would submerge her she was kick so hard and fast to get back up! Haha And when she would have her float on her back she would panic a little but got better with time!  Jumping in was her favorite thing and the lifeguard would have to back up far because she would launch herself as far as she could! Haha  This little girl is so funny!  Cutler was a good boy while watching but it was killing him that he couldn't just get it with them!

She cant wait until she get in lessons again!

We also took a trip to the local pool one day so Cutler could enjoy the water too!

One day we got a call from Mick and Albert and they invited us to go bowling! It was a lot of fun!  The kids had a good time and so did the adults!
