Christmas Letter

This year has been such a fun year for our family. In January we found out that we were expecting our first child due in Sept. so our year was filled with being pregnant and all the joys that go along with that. We didn’t find out what we were having so on September 14th at 11:16pm we had a little GIRL! We named her Ronnee Evalene Ortiz. She weighed 7lbs 13oz and was 19.25 in long. We named her after her Snakes aka Tyler’s dad Ronnie and her middle name is both of our Grandma’s names combined, Evelyn and Merlene.  Both of our mothers got to come out and help us welcome her into the world! Thank you mom and Terri; she has been the light of our eyes. She is such a sweet baby and is growing up way too fast! I hope that she knows how much she is loved and how blessed we are to have her in our family.
Also this year we got the opportunity to move out of San Jose, CA to Reno, NV. We loved San Jose but it was so expensive and Tyler loves moving us around. So 2 weeks after Ronnee was born we packed our stuff up and headed to NV. Thank you Ronnie and Terri for all of your help; we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you! We are loving Reno so far. Tyler loves how close we are to the mountains and we even got some snow today!  It is definitely nice to be out of that big city! I love the small town feel that Reno provides. I am hoping that we will stay here for the next few years of our lives! But you never know with Tyler!
Besides those two major events in our life, Tyler is doing awesome. He loves his job and the people that he works with.  He travels a little more with this territory but he feels that it is way worth because he gets to wake up and see the mountains every day.  He is a great provider for our family and the best father to Little Ronnee. And he spoils the both of us so we are good to go!
I am doing good also. I love being a mother. We have so much fun together. I have a new best friend. I can’t wait for her to be able to talk back to me. It gets old just hearing my own voice. I am lucky enough to get to stay home with the little one and I am loving it. On Thursdays we go to a new mothers group. It is nice to get out and meet new people and just talk to other adults in person. That was the downfall of moving was that I was going to lose all my friends again. I had a friend in San Jose that was pregnant with me and had a baby a week before I did and man do I miss her. I am so grateful for texting! But Tyler and I are growing closer because once again we are our only friends. But I can’t complain because I love that I get to stay home!
Ronnee is now 3 months old. She sleeps really good. Wakes up a couple times a night to eat still but I can’t complain. She goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up at 7am. She is so funny in the mornings, it takes her like 30 minutes to wake up. She stretches and stretches and then finally opens up her eyes and smiles. Such a funny kid already.  I put her in front of the mirror the other day and she started cracking up! It was the cutest thing. She either thinks she is funny or her mom is that funny looking.  At her 2 month check up she weighed 11.13lb (75%) and was 24 in long (95%). So she is long!  She is so much fun and I love watching her grow and change everyday. I can already tell she has a fun personality!
So overall we are doing so good and couldn’t ask for anything more.   We are so grateful for all our family and friends and wish you all the best in 2010!

Love The Tyler Ortiz Family!

Sent it out to a few but figured I would put in on here also! Hope everyone has the best Christmas!
