Swimming with the Fewkes'

I watched Justin and Kayla when we lived in San Jose and they were up at Tahoe for a few days so we took a trip up there to see them. It was so fun to see the kids, they are growing up so fast.  Ronnee had a good time swimming even though she hated wearing her swimsuit. So for the first little bit she was in a diaper then then she pooped so she had to wear it and thru the biggest fit and then finally relaxed!

It was pretty sad to go up to Tahoe and they didn’t have very much snow at all. I think there was more in our front yard!  Hopefully they have some now that we have had some storms roll thru!

Need to plan a trip to San Jose this summer to see all of our friends!

Tyler

Tyler has been doing awesome at work and got a new hospital to go prime with Cardinal. Not sure what that ll means but I do know that he gets a bonus and he will be make millions of more dollars for Cardinal so his commissions will go up!!! Also he said it should be able to bring back a couple jobs that were let go when they lost CHW! We are so proud of him and so are all of his coworkers. They keep taking him to lunch! Lucky! 

So he wanted to celebrate with some friends so we had some friends over last weekend. The kids played and had a good time and so did the men! And we women had a great time visiting and catching up. We hadn’t seen Brandy and Justin and Haleigh for a long time!

Children's Museum

We finally went to the cool Children’s Museum here in Reno. Thanks for the invite Jeri. The girls all had a lot of fun and I know we will be going back plenty more once I can move faster and on a day that not all the kids are our of school!

Ronnee

Ronnee Ronnee Ronnee… what I am going to do with this little girl.  Before I go and tell the goods and bads we are having I better post some cute pics of her sweet face. It is no wonder God made her so cute with some of the headaches she causes!

I go outside with Dinnah! I get my shoes! And note she can already run in heels! And yes we still wear our Christmas Jammies and will until they dont fit!

Whares my Hawse! She always has a horse and 99% of the time we are watching a horse movie. Her favorites are the Man From Snowy River.

Now to what I want to remember and for her to know when she grows up.

Little Girl there is nothing wrong with pooping. Everyone does it and it is good for your body.  About every 2 or 3 days we go through the “my belly hurtin” or “I hold you” or “i cold” all these translate to I need to poop really bad so will you hold me all day so that I can avoid it!  We do have some weeks where she will go on her own even and not even tell me or even in a public bathroom but for the last few weeks we have been going through this lovely ordeal! And it isn’t as if she is constipated because she has always had very runny poop (sorry) and still does when she finally goes. When we got to the 5 day mark and all she did is cry all day I resorted to giving her and Enigma.  So nasty and she hates it but yet somehow forgets it! Please sweet little thing remember that pooping is not scary. Nasty yes but then so is drinking out of the dogs water with them and you dont mind doing that!

Another thing… Naps and bedtime are also good for you and everybody does it or wants to!   We have just recently, yes I know, moved Ronnee into her room and her big bed! Tyler didn’t want her to go and I needed the support to move her! We have our good nights and days and our bad ones. Some nights she goes down like a dream and doesn’t wake up until morning. Other times she has nightmares or something and she fights forever to fall asleep. She normally cries for whoever is not putting her to sleep, or she needs a drink, or needs to go pee. She is one smart cookie. Ty tends to fall for the potty one because he doesn’t want to get peed on in the night. Which has only happened once and it was with him. So for the first 2 weeks one of us would sleep in there with her. Now we are to the getting her to sleep and leaving her and if she wakes up one of us takes her back in there and lays with her. Lets hope she gets consistent at sleeping thru the night!

When it comes to clothing… Jeans, Skirts, Dresses, Jackets, Swimsuits, Anything with a button/zipper real or fake, and long shirts are all cute things to wear and wont kill you!   I didn’t know that kids had such huge opinions about things when they were this young. She used to just throw a fit when I would force them on her and then run to the other room and strip. Now she examines all her clothes after I get them out for her to wear. Seriously it is winter and you need more then a not zip up sweatshirt!  Please grow out of this or at least give some of the clothes a try before you freak out and act like someone took your horse!

Well okay those are the main issues we are having at this time besides your normal terrible 2 tantrums over nothing but she does have some sweet qualities!

I really need to write all these down to remind myself of why I like her and dont want to sell her to the gypsies!

For one… she is very considerate. She makes sure that everyone in the room has a toy to play with. She even will let you have one of her horse. And if you end up with a horse she wants she will bring you something to trade for it. It helps a lot that we have a little boy here with her all the time, so she had to learn this quick or spend her day in time out crying.

She is very very loving and cuddly. She loves to lay by me and cuddle and every couple seconds she turns around and kisses me.  When I tell her that I love her she says “i lub you TO.” And she loves telling the people she talks to on the phone that she loves them and they need to come to her house! The other night we were skyping with Hannah and she made Hannah go find her shoes and put them on and told her “ come to my house.” It was sad after because she ran to the window and was watching for her! She wouldn’t stop kissing Josh and Caleb when we were skyping them and she loves talking to Snakes and Mimi and tells them to get there shoes! 

She is so so smart! When she just has one of her horses she asks “where’s my nother hawse.” She talks and uses so many phrases that just amaze me! She wont to do things on command but out of the blue she will tell you that she has 3 horses. It used to drive me crazy that she wouldn’t count for me but I know she is learning. She is just to darn stubborn and smart and loves to drive me crazy just like her Dad!

Sweet little Ronnee if we are having such a hard time now how in the HELL are we going to make it to and thru teenage hood!

Walking…

So for the year 2011 I walked/ran 340.2 miles!! Pretty darn awesome. And so my goal for the year 2012 is to walk 365 miles. So basically at least a mile for everyday of the year!  So far this year I walk 38.8 miles in January and I am at 16 miles for the month of February. So I am doing pretty good.I have walk just over 200 miles this pregnancy!  I have noticed that as I my belly grows in size the longer it takes to walk my mile a day. And for now I only make myself go a mile a day because I am so huge and waddling is not that fun! Lets just say I cant wait to be done so I can walk like a normal person at a good pace!  

I do feel much better on days that I get a nice good walk in! And was able to finish almost all of my big projects except for the kitchen table so hopefully I can get that done this week!  And then I can get my deep cleaning list done and then all I will have to worry about it keeping up the house work until the baby comes!!!

33 weeks!

Well in a couple days but close enough! I went to the doc today and the baby sounded good and I am measuring right on schedule!  She said she would induce up to a week early but I cant because we have to wait for the parents to get here darn it! But at least I know now that she will/can induce or strip my membranes as soon as they all get here and get this baby out!

A week and a half ago I went in for an ultra sound because the babies kidney’s were enlarged. Well the next day my doctor called to inform me that the babies kidney’s were still enlarged. I was kind of in a little bit of shock because I just assumed they would go back to normal size. My doc told me that I needed to contact my Pediatrician so he knows what is going on. As soon as I got off of the phone I called him and later that day he returned my call. I told him what was going on and he said he need to get the results and know the gender and that he would get that info and get back to me… Well a week went by of me calling him to remind him and him telling me he was waiting for my doc to send him the stuff. Meanwhile I am trying not to stress because I really dont know how common this is or how serious it is. Well when I went to my doc today she asked who my pediatrician is and I told her that he has been trying to get a hold of her and the results for a week. She said she hadn’t heard a thing. Well turns out her office staff is a little flakey! So now that my doctor knew what was going on she sent them to him herself. So this afternoon I got a message from the pediatrician that I shouldn’t stress that they were in fact enlarged but not to bad. He will do an ultra sound on the baby after he/she is born but I shouldn’t lose sleep over it. So for now I will just sleep not really I am pregnant but I will stop worrying and we will see what happens after!

New Year’s Goals

I had the idea to at the beginning of each month to write about how I am doing on my goals.

One goal was try new recipes and cook more… I have tried a few new recipes and I have been cooking more. It helps that I make menu for the week or at least write down a few ideas for a meals before we go grocery shopping so I have all the stuff. It is a good feeling when I know I have meals prepared for my family. We still had a few lazy days where it was nice that I made to much so we could have leftovers! Lets hope I can keep this up, I can tell I am losing my energy!

Another was to workout consistently. Well I was doing really good with this but I haven’t walked in a couple days and I can totally tell the difference. And maybe that is why my energy is lacking. I have been painting my bedroom and bathroom with help of course and keeping my house clean so I am counting that as staying active! It is at least keeping me busy! Today I plan on starting the walking everyday again because my body can really feel the difference when I dont!

Another was be a more understanding mother and wife… I feel like I have been doing pretty good with this. My patience level has been way better and I think that I am keeping my angry moods in check! This one is so hard sometimes when your daughter tells you she wants to pee in her pants and does it! lol Seriously this little girl I think loves to get under my skin sometimes! But she is a sweet heart and I will keep her!

And last but not least I made the goal to be more in the know with our money! And thanks to Jessica for helping me figure out the spreadsheet I am doing good with this one! I have been really good about feeling everything out. It is so nice to know where all our money is going! I learned last month that we need to be careful on our eating out and try and be more frugal with our grocery shopping! Right after the new year we ate out 3 times and that really killed us but after that we did really good and hopefully this month we will do even better! So far we went our for my birthday but we had a free pizza so we are doing good! I think that I am probably annoying Tyler with all my questions and checking our accounts so often but I hope eventually he will appreciate the help!

Well I thought I made more goals but apparently not and that is probably a good thing.

My list of things that I wanted to do before the baby is almost done so now I need to think of some more ideas! I want to deep clean the house or really I dont want to but I know that my kitchen floor needs a good hand mopping job and my carpets need to be shampooed! So please please let my energy stay here at least for a few more weeks so I can have a nice clean house and nothing to do so I can sit on my butt and watch tv!

Happy Birthday ME!!!

Weren’t going to purchase it this early but since they upped our credit so we could do the no interest, I set up the delivery date for my Birthday. It was pretty funny telling Tyler that I got it! I pulled a Marian on him! But he was happy when he came home and saw it!  I love it! And I love the color of blue that we chose. The bathroom is painted that color to. Thank you Jeri for painting all the edges and the high parts since it probably isn’t safe for me to ever be on the top of a later especially when prego!

The bed is now quite a bit taller so it is a little bit of a pain when it comes to peeing a million times in the night. I hope I dont forget it is that tall and break my head! lol

Update...

Just got home from getting an ultra sound of the baby. She didn't tell me anything about the kidneys but she said my doctor will have the results tomorrow. So I am assuming if something is wrong with the babies kidney's she will give me a call otherwise I will see her next week. The tech only let us see the face of our sweet baby because she said I would easily be able to see the sex if she were let us see down there. But our sweet baby has some cute big lips and a cute little nose. I wish that it could have been a 4D ultrasound for the cute pictures but we wont be getting those done this time because it is over a hundred dollars more then it was when we got it done with Ronnee. So we will have have to wait until this baby comes into the world and take lots of cute pictures!

Ronnee update... She is at such a funny age. Talking way to much and becoming more of a character everyday. She LOVES LOVES horses, and the other day I finally found the movie "Spirit." When she watched it she sat on the edge of her seat and wouldn't even blink. Lol! Now that we have had it a few days she will watch other things. She has to sleep with her little plastic horses and a cow. She lays them on her chest and passes out. She is such a crazy kid. Potty training still has its good days and bad. She has pretty much got the peeing down except for when others are watching her which I expect. Pooping is a ton different. She has her days where she will just go in and go then out of the blue she is mortified to poop and will hold it for days. The other day I had to make her go (use your imagination). And when she finally went I had to hold her butt down on the toilet while she was shaking with fear I assume. She kept looking down watching it come out and screaming. Not sure what the deal is with that. But since then she has gone twice in the toilet for me like it was nothing. I think she just likes to mess with me. Tyler thinks that kids are not that smart but I know that they are!
When it comes to sleeping I cant figure out if she is over naps or just hates going to bed at night. She only naps like an hour and then when it comes to around 8 or 8:30 we go to bed and she screams and fights for 2+ hours. We are currently just turning of the tv 30 minutes before bed time so by the time we really want her to be asleep she will be over us "pushing buttons." The funny thing about that is the first things she says when she wakes up is "mommy pushed a button!" Kids never forget! We were so lucky to have ty home all last week for nap time so she went to nap easy. She fights ty less for naps but need mom when it comes to bed.
Next week her and Tyler are kicked to her room so she can get out of our room. Ty isn't a big fan of the idea but I feel like it is a must with a new one coming. It is strange how much he is against her leaving our bed. So wish them both luck!

And good news my new bedroom furniture is going to be delivered on my birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME!!

Also Tyler and I had our 4year Anniversary on the 26th! We got to go have a nice dinner and I got him slim work pants. hahah of course they didn't fit. That is what happens when you go shopping with 2 toddlers! And Tyler got me some beautiful flowers! 4 years already!!!

One project done!

Well really 2 huge projects nearly done…

Our bedroom is all the way painted and the bathroom is almost finished (pictures to come) and now all we need for our room to be finished is our new furniture!  Hopefully that will be purchased in the next week!

The next project is the dresser. I only have one more side of the mirror to paint and it will be complete!

Doc visit...

Today we went to the doc for the one in my belly, and everything was good. The heartbeat sounded nice and strong and it made Ronnee start shaking her bum! The doc thought it was hilarious. She would stop every time the beat would stop. Mason thought it was a little creepy or at least his facial expression said that! lol
Now I start the every 2 week appointments! Makes it feel so much closer! Monday we go in for another ultra sound because the last one showed that the babies kidneys were enlarged so we need to make sure they are doing better. The doc told me not to worry about it and that they usually go back to normal on there own. So that is what I am doing or trying to do. The many stresses of being a mother even when they are still in the womb!

She loves her dogs…

With her horse in hand she is the only person that can get Tulo to drop his ball!

It was so nice to have a few days of nice weather so she could go outside and play with her dogs. Helps them all to get there energy out. She loves to throw the ball to them and watch them race to get it. Sometimes it is a little scary because they fight but she is quick to remind them there is no fighting and they go back to playing the game. Who would have thought someone so small could boss such big dogs around!

30 weeks at last!

I cant decide if I am bigger now or just carrying different. Tyler thinks I was bigger with Ronnee but all I know is that I looked better with Ronnee because I had a nice tan! TAN FAT IS BETTER THEN WHITE FAT! lol  And I thought I put on the same pants for the second picture but now that the pics are side by side I realize I didn’t. But close enough I guess!

So glad to finally be at 30 weeks! I am feeling pretty good and it has been going by pretty fast with all the holidays so I have a feeling the last 10 weeks are going to take forever!  So I have made a huge list of projects for me to work on to help pass the time! Lets hope I get them done. I will post pictures if they turn out!

Pregnancy is not that fun but I am trying to make the best of it. I am really sick of the heartburn and the peeing all the time and the being uncomfortable when trying to sleep! But I have energy most days and have managed to keep my house clean with 2 toddlers destroying it!  I think that my energy levels have been so good and I am not in to much pain because of all the walking I have been doing. Sounds strange but I feel like it is helping me! The other day I walked 2.5 miles and came home and still had energy to go through a few cabinets. Seems like on days that I skip going for a walk I get so much less done around the house and i dont sleep as good! So it is still my goal to walk everyday!

Baby in my tummy seems to be  a morning person which is a little scary because I am not and my other child is a night owl!  This baby has a party every morning around 5:30. Tyler said he was laying in bed this morning watching the blanket on my belly go crazy! It is quite entertaining but I really wanted to sleep in with Ronnee!  

During the week days I have to wake up around 6:45am because the little boy I watch gets dropped off around 7 am. Most days Ronnee sleeps in until closer to 8, well the other day she decided to wake up at 7:10 and Mason hadn’t been dropped off yet so she came and sat in the lazy boy with me. I like to sit there and watch my belly move and catch on my facebook. Well I was holding Ronnee and she was resting her hand on my belly and the baby started going crazy. Ronnee started smiling and she couldn’t get enough of it. It was so cool that she was able to feel and understand that there really is a baby in mommies belly! She went from miss grumpy pants to happy in a matter of a few kicks from her sibling!  I cant wait for this baby to get here so she can hold it and help mommy take care of it!

The Urge to Blog!

I love blogging… not sure why but I think because it gives me something to do at night when I am bored and watching some Disney movie with Ronnee and/or because it is a fun place to write down my thoughts!

I have been feeling pretty proud of myself recently. I have been walking so much the last few weeks thanks to good weather and energy. It makes me feel so good about myself and helps my days go better. I feel so proud that I am keeping it up and not letting myself give excuses. The other day I walked with my neighbor and we went about 3 miles and later that night she text me that she was sore. It felt nice knowing that I am in pretty good shape and pregnant because I wasn’t sore!  No offense to my neighbor but it was a confidence booster for me!

Not only have I been good about my walking but I have been so good at keeping my house clean and making dinner every night. Some days that can be a challenge with the two toddlers running around but I am doing pretty dang good at keeping up with them. As soon as I put them for naps I clean up and as soon as Mason leaves I clean up and it has really helped stay on top of the messes!   And I have even made yummy dinners that even Ronnee is eating!  GO ME! lol

Maybe I love blogging because it is a good place to toot my own horn and brag about how I am doing! hahaha Jk But it does help me stay positive to write about how I feel and the positive things that I have going on!  So glad my negative pregnancy mood is not around as much!

Hope I can keep up all this energy and this attitude so I can get my long long list of projects and chores done before this baby gets here!

New Years Goals

As I sit here in dead silence I am thinking about the things that I need to work on this year... Normally my goals have to do with losing weight but obviously this year I cant start that now and when this baby pops out I am going to drop like25 that week so I will have been successful at losing weight! So this year I have to think of other things that I need to work on. I am still going to keep the normal goals of WORKING OUT CONSISTENTLY which I have been doing awesome this week because we are having really good weather. But I need to make sure I keep that up because I feel so much better when I do! WALKING IS MY SAVIOR MOST DAYS!
I am making the goal to cook more meals. We eat at home pretty much everyday but that doesn't mean I am always cooking. So I am going to BE a better cook and try new recipes! I need to go find some yummy salad recipes because Ty of course is trying to drop some LBS and I need to keep my weight gain in check! So I am making the goal to TRY A NEW RECIPE AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH!
This year I am also going to get more into our finances. I dont know how much money we make or how much any of our bills are or when they are due, so basically Tyler takes the stress of all of that to himself. I feel like it is important for me to know what is going on so I dont get lectured when I am spending to much money! So my goal is to help take some of the money stress off of Tyler's shoulders and start helping us pay off our debt! BE IN THE KNOW WHEN IT COMES TO OUR MONEY!
As you have all heard me vent about this pregnancy and potty training, I have come to realize that I need to work on my patience with Tyler and Ronnee. They dont always deserve to be treated like I treat them. Lol Ronnee is a sweet smart little girl and I hope I am the mom she needs and deserves! Tyler on the other hand finds my temper funny but I know that he means well and he is a good Father and provider for our family! So my goal is to BE A MORE UNDERSTANDING AND LOVING WIFE AND MOTHER!
I think this is enough more me to work on considering my list of chores that I need to do before the baby comes at the end of March!
P.s. I never mentioned before but I am now watching a little boy all week and all day and getting paid so I am now contributing to the income! lol But really it nice to have a friend her for Ronnee to boss around and the cute little boy take 3+ hour naps so it is awesome!!

New Years Party!

In true Ortiz fashion we couldn’t just have a quiet New Years Eve, so we had some friends over!  We ate lots and lots and lots of food and the kids danced!  Oh yeah and we also played some games but mostly we just ate!

This face makes me smile! These 2 were having a serious card game!  Then came for popcorn and movie time!

Gonzaga won so Jeri was happy and the men had food so over all it was a good night!!
